Welcome to Pt. England School
The Tamaki Achievement Pathway

The Tamaki Achievement Pathway is a Schooling Improvement Intiative that is comprised of a cluster of eleven schools working in partnership with the New Zealand Ministry of Education to achieve three major goals. They are:

  • To raise the student achievement outcomes of all our students
  • To make our schools the schools of choice in the Tamaki community
  • To provide a connected continuum of learning for the students of the Tamaki community
The schools involved in this initiative are:

Our current focus in this initiative is the development of literacy across all levels in all the schools

The cluster is focused on the professional development of teachers and is a four year contract which is currently in its 2nd year.
The development focus is the integration of eLearning with literacy and has 4 major goals:
 
  • to develop student personal voice
  • to develop authentic audience
  • to develop our students as creators of content not just consumers
  • to raise student achievement outcomes in Literacy

Health Promoting Schools
 
This contract has been running in our school for three years and has involved:
  • healthy food
  • fruit in schools
  • push play
  • sunsmart

We are happy to advise that we have achieved the goals of all of these components and have just received our gold award from the New Zealand Heart Foundation.
